Back here again!

Hello!

I have not been able to update this journal section for a long time.

Thanks to all of you, this summer's Kakigori has been even more of a hit than I expected (although it's not over yet), and my days have flown by with, at least updating Instagram, doing weekly popups, playing with my kids, writing for a Japanese magazine, and treating myself a little.

How has your summer been?

At Street Bazaar, the first big outdoor event I exhibited at the end of July, I saw a huge crowd of people I hadn't seen in 18 months.
They were eating, dancing, and hugging each other, and as being surrounded by the exuberant energy of the people, I had a few moments where I wondered if this was a game of guessing between dreams and reality (even while making Kakigori non-stop! ).

But then again, a new kind of virus made it so that I could only see your eyes again.
It's a disappointment, but even with just your eyes, or rather your very presence, we can feel so many things for each other, can't we?

Just by looking at the back, I can tell that you are tired; just by greeting you, I can tell that something good has happened to you.

I often wonder what this pandemic is teaching us.

What is the message that it has been conveying for such a long time, with all the problems of politics, economics, race, and the environment?

My answer so far is here;

The importance of making a decision by ourselves

without blaming others or something bigger.

And to respect different opinions more than ever.

To listen instead of trying to persuade.

Furthermore, I should be more than grateful for the freedom to be able to make my own decisions in this unequal society.

Well…I think,
this is a transition period under the name of global pandemic for us to welcome a new world of diversity in the true sense of the word, where we can be independent and harmonize with each other.
