Asian Joy,Japanese Joy

3.jpg

The feeds of my friends in Japan are filled with the sight of cherry blossoms heralding the news of full bloom.

There are many places in Japan where tens of thousands of people gather under the cherry trees with their bento boxes. On the other hand, there are also people who spend intimate moments under the cherry blossoms in their own private retreats. Like this elderly couple in the photo[taken by their daughter].

There are those who raise their voices to shout the news of spring to their audience and lead the way.

Others listen to the whisperings of nature and act accordingly.

Both of them have the same feelings of compassion and respect for nature and want to share in its joy.

If nature is harmed, some will shout out their opinions in their own way, while others will quietly do what they can in their daily lives to protect nature.

In Japanese culture, where humility and modesty are valued and regarded as virtues, people are infested with an aversion to speaking up.

Instead, they approach it the way they take it, suggesting what they believe from the small joys that dwell in their everyday lives.

When I was living in Japan, I felt frustrated by this roundabout tendency. However, I now understand that it is because of this approach that we are able to communicate and that there are people who will receive our message. It may take a long time, but I believe that this is a culture that we should be proud of, one that slowly nurtures unity rather than confrontation and separation.

I believe that both approaches can coexist and cooperate.

A big thank you, respect, and love to Thuy Pham at Mama dud foods for maximizing so much unvoiced pain from AAPI community and BIPOC.

She has inspired me,as a Japanese who lives in the US, to realize that what I want to post here is to be Asian Joy, Japanese Joy to effort to change the hate to love

Cherry blossoms, magnolias, daffodils. Today in Portland, it's a beautiful day for flower viewing.

May people of ALL OF HUMAN BEING[I am respresenting of BIPOC AND AAPI] enjoy this short spring moment without fear or anxiety.

Have a wonderful&peaceful weekend.
